General

During this release, new screens and functions are being introduced as part of the GMAS 2.0 project. Visit this website for further details on the project. A number of screens have been converted to the new GMAS 2.0 look and feel. To see examples of the new user experience, see the July 2015 GMAS release preview

Project Snapshot

For the new GMAS 2.0 screens (see full list below), there is a new project snapshot that includes the following data: 

  • PI
  • Mentor (if the project type is fellowship)
  • Fund number (for active projects) or project id (for pending projects)
  • Sponsor
  • Anticipated amount ($)
  • Obligated amount ($)
  • Proposed amount ($) if project is pending
  • Segment status (pending, active, closed, not funded)
  • Project dates

Navigation

For the new GMAS 2.0 screens (see full list below), the main navigation bar has been modified to remove the following links: 

  • Receipts
  • Receivables
  • Reporting

User-specific navigation (including To Do's, Documents, and Portfolio) are now collapsed and appear under the username. 
For the new screens, the page title and breadcrumbs links will persist as users scroll. 

Person Search

On the new screens, a new person lookup feature has been added. The lookup includes the ability to enter text and the search will autocomplete with selections. Users may also perform partial searches on person's names including first, middle, and last names. Users can also create person records within this new feature. 

Buttons

On the new edit screens, buttons are now condensed into a single Action button on the right-hand side of the screen. All available actions will appear under this new button. If an action cannot be taken, the action will appear greyed out with a description of why the specific cannot be taken. If only one action is available, the single button with its title will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. 

Date Picker

On the new edit screens, a new date picker feature has been added. Users can pick from a calendar style date picker. There is still an option for user-entered dates.  

Confirmations

For the new GMAS 2.0 screens, confirmations and warnings now appear as modal screens. 

Signatures

Signatures for new GMAS 2.0 screens are now in-page modal screens for both signing and logging signatures. 

Administrative Module

An administrative module has been added to GMAS. Several new features were introduced to the module; these features will be able to modified by FSS outside of the release cycle. Currently, the module includes:

  • Tool tips - denoted by a blue question mark, these tips are available for field-level descriptions
  • Page information - page-level information
  • Featured links - this feature allows the addition of links to external sites on each new page

Notices

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue on Edit Research Personnel screen that allows users to edit a person name only when <Edit> is selected. 
  • Fixed an issue preventing users from completing revisions and requests if request-level approvals were in "Done" status. 
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing users from deleting accounts in a segment revision. 
  • When merging duplicate person records, cache is cleared so that updates are reflected immediately.
  • On the Edit Financial Award Information screen, users are no longer required to enter a state if the country is not listed as United States.
  • GMAS now prevents users from entering the same organization profile as both parent and child entity. 
  • Fixed an issue with deleting parent organizations. 
  • Modified the Sponsored Activity Attributes (SAA) interface to run the fiscal year-end process starting on July 1, rather than July 2 for 9 weeks to include the F&A rate for the fiscal year (FY) that is closing, and the FY that is starting.
  • Fixed an issue where Grants.gov submission statuses weren't updating in the background after submission.
  • Fixed an error when going from request home to research staff

Technical

  • Installed new SSL certificates for system to system connection with Grants.gov.
  • Updated Weblogic, Database, and Weblogic JDK to the latest Oracle patchsets.

General

This stabilization release fixed a number of bugs, including: 

  • Download this page for account now formats dollars as numbers and correctly displays the project id.
  • Budget periods can now be deleted in a segment revision.
  • Email notifications for "Confirm Research Team" and "Log Notice" now show the correct project title and PI instead of "N/A".
  • To dos for "Notice logged" now get completed correctly when the notice is reviewed.
  • The global header on the new GMAS 2.0 screens now reads "Organizations" instead of "Organization."
  • The issue causing the GMAS footer to display "n/a" has been fixed to display the correct build number.
  • The request account list now links to the new GMAS 2.0 version of the account home.
  • IDC rate history now shows all rates (including deleted rates).
  • IDC rate history now shows percentages in the correct format.
  • Edit final figure now accepts formatted dollar amounts with dollar signs and commas.
  • New people can now be created without errors from the subrecipient contacts page.
  • Create person now treats email as a required field.
  • Logic to flag accounts for disabling has been fixed for accounts with no GL transactions.
  • Fixed a system error that could occur using breadcrumbs after other actions.
