GMAS Release 1_38

April 18, 2015

Performance/Technical

GMAS speed has been significantly improved through invasive architectural changes.

  • These architectural changes have also prepared GMAS for the GMAS 2.0 project

    • All documents in Segment Documents appear

HMS Conflict of Interest/OAR Approval

      • The HMS Outside Activity Reporting (OAR) system has been integrated with GMAS, so that the institution’s obligation to collect and review financial interests for each grant application and award is streamlined into the existing GMAS workflow.
      • For more information please refer to GMAS / OAR Integration.

Security

      • GMAS user flags will default to Yes for all person profiles with a HUID
        • This change will allow individuals added on projects to access GMAS immediately
        • This change will allow individuals added to projects as signatories to electronically sign immediately
        • Authorized requestors will no longer need to request GMAS user flags to be set to yes from FSS Client Services
        • FSS Client Services will continue to change GMAS user flags to No when appropriate

Confirm Research Team

      • Confirm Research Team functionality will be available at the segment level once a request is in submitted to sponsor status. Previously, Confirm Research Team only appeared when a notice has been logged against an initial request, or when there is an approved At-Risk request.
        • If a research team is confirmed and then a revise to resubmit is created within the segment, the confirmed research team and approvals generated at the segment level will be deleted. The confirm research team option will be available again once the new request version is submitted to sponsor.
      • Confirm Research Team Bug Fixes
        • Selecting the "Other" role when confirming or editing the research team now requires a description to be entered
        • Date fields on the confirm research team and edit research team screens now allow slashes and/or dashes
        • Confirm Research Team to-do's are removed correctly for all individuals in the Department Administrator role when the to-do is completed

System-to-system (S2S)

      • When an IRB approval is exempt GMAS no longer requires that the approval date received be entered so that the package submitted to sponsor does not include a date that is not required
      • Summary information for Grants.gov documents no longer appears on the request home. This drastically improves performance for S2S requests.
      • System-to-System Bug Fixes
        • Non-personnel count in the budget forms now only includes the number of non-personnel paid within the budget period (was previously including non-personnel count for entire project in each budget period)
        • User-friendly errors will appear for submissions where the inclusion or planned enrollment forms were selected to be included with the submission with no data populated in the forms
        • Return characters in the inclusion or planned enrollment titles no longer disable the edit and delete functions
        • Fixed an issue requiring an extra attachment on the Career Award Supplement Form
