Winter Recess Schedules (OSP, SPH, HMS/ HSDM)

In observance of the University's winter recess, the Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP) will close at noon on Thursday, December 24, 2015 and will resume operations on Monday, January 4, 2016. How to Get Support Following the Release

As a reminder, a new release will be available to users on December 14th.  This release includes new features (i.e. redesigned segment home,) converted screens (i.e. OAR Approval) and bug fixes (i.e. upload all grant.gov file types.)

The redesigned segment home brings additional information front and center including highlighting dates and dollars, segment actions, and links to existing GMAS screens.   The following job aids have been developed to assist with some of the new features and processes included in this release:

Join Us During GMAS 2.0 Office Hours

We encourage all GMAS users to attend our upcoming GMAS 2.0 Office Hours to become more familiar with the system changes prior to the December 14th release. During the office hours users will log into the system, in the testing environment, and explore the recent changes to the system including the re-designed segment home and converted pages. GMAS team members will be available to assist with gaining access to and exploring the system as well as be available to answer any questions you have about the new functionality....

GMAS Relationships with Other Systems

There are currently eight other systems that GMAS connects with to provide and receive information related to sponsored research.

  • Harvard Data Warehouse (HDW): Data from GMAS is extracted and sent to the Harvard Data Warehouse. This allows for reporting through CREW, OBI, and other means of reporting. The HDW also sends Tub, ORG, Object code and Root information, all transactions from the HDW, and salary data to GMAS.
  • Oracle: GMAS sends new accounts, account modifications, and accounts ready for disabling to Oracle. This allows accounts...

Is Your GMAS Question a Frequently Asked Question?

The GMAS team has recently incorporated an FAQ section onto the website; have you checked it out yet?  The FAQ page can be found under the User Resources tab on the GMAS website.

The questions that appear on the site come from a variety of different sources, such as tickets submitted to the help desk, questions raised at GMAS outreach sessions and extracted content from popular job aids on the GMAS site. We Heard You

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the GMAS 2.0 Survey and for providing feedback on the July release – more than 80 respondents!  The survey allowed us to prepare for future releases by understanding the best ways to communicate with users and the perception of the navigational changes.  As a result of the survey, the project team has identified system improvements that will be implemented as early as the December release.  For example, following the December release, the white space on converted screens will be reduced, and the GMAS system will accommodate...
