Financial Invoicing and Reporting Strategic Transition (FIRST)


All sponsored awards include some form of financial deliverables (invoices or financial reports). OSP currently uses the FRAP system to automate many of these deliverables.

The FRAP system is:

  • Cumbersome from a support and user perspective.
  • Severely inadequate from a technical infrastructure based on the lowest of HUIT standards.
  • Fragile and unable to adapt to emerging business needs. 

The FIRST project seeks to:

  • Retire the FRAP system to reduce technical risk.
  • Improve and extend the automation for generating sponsored invoices and financial reports directly from GMAS.
  • Reduce the reliance on paper for the workflow of preparing and approving financial deliverables.
  • Improve visibility for the whole sponsored community and improve post-award communication.


Timeline


The FIRST project will be delivered over several GMAS releases starting in April 2018.
