GMAS March 2021 Release

The GMAS March 2021 release will be available as of the start of business on Friday, March 26, 2021. This release includes a few enhancements, some minor bug fixes, and some technical changes.

The enhancements include:

  • Displaying preferred name (if available) on the GMAS welcome screen
  • Removal of the link for the legacy Foreign/Overseas approval (replaced by the new international collaboration and activities approval)
  • Removal of the ability to enter final figures when there is an open segment revision
  • Deleting a request with associated OAIR approvals will now remove those approvals from the OAIR system
  • Unliquidated obligations (specifically for federal training grant projects) can now be captured in GMAS
  • For federal projects with the “Letter of credit” payment method, the “Agency LOC number” can now be overridden on an individual account in the segment

The bug fixes include:

  • OAIR approvals in status of “Done” will no longer appear on the segment home “Needed approvals” panel
  • Correction of an issue where the “Inter-Faculty Involvement” (IFI) request was not able to be locked and routed for approval when attempting to add IFI folks to the research team
  • Correction if an issue where new requests on projects that had changed tubs/orgs from the original proposal were being created with the previous tub/org

The technical changes include:

Update to GMAS/HURON people data API

  • An updated record will be passed if the department a person belongs to remains unchanged, but the department description is updated
  • A student's school code now appears in the faculty code column to help streamline how the data's consumed by HURON
  • Implementation of a retry option when we connect to IDDB server to consume files, to avoid job failures due to connectivity issues on the initial try
