GMAS Unavailable the Weekend of Friday, January 15, 2021 (starting at 6:00 pm) until the start of business on Monday, January18, 2021 for Release 1_56

GMAS will be unavailable beginning at 6PM on Friday, January 15th. This outage is scheduled to support the upcoming GMAS release scheduled to be available on Monday, January 18th. In this release, GMAS will integrate with the new Outside Activity and Interest Reporting System (OAIR), and retire the COI and OAR approvals. The new integration helps to streamline the institutions obligation to collect and review outside activities and interests for investigators associated to grant applications and awards into the existing GMAS workflow.

While the GMAS release is available on the 18th, the OAIR system will not be going live until the 23rd. For the first week after the release, all OAIR approvals in GMAS will remain in “Pending” status and OAIR will not send notifications to investigators. This delay will assist in the transition between the old COI and OAR systems to the new OAIR system.

During the week of January 18 – 22, this new approval will generate for new investigators, but will not send to the OAIR system. During this period, OVPR has provided the guidance that proposal submissions may move forward, but award set-up will require a check with the appropriate OAIR representative (or DIO) to move forward.

For more information about the new OAIR integration, please see the GMAS-OAIR Integration Job Aid.

While the main focus of the release is OAIR integration, there are other changes made to GMAS in this upcoming release which include:

  • Conversion of the create request screen
  • A new segment status "Pending: Notice logged"
  • Retirement of COI legacy, COI, OAR, and Foreign/Overseas approval screens
  • Re-organization of the approval list screen to highlight needed vs done approvals
  • and more
